Maria Immacolata Vassallo de Lopes holds a degree in Social Sciences from the University of São Paulo; MA and PhD in Communication Sciences from the University of São Paulo; postdoctoral fellow at the University of Florence, Italy. Currently a professor at the School of Communications and Arts at USP; experience in Communications, with emphasis on Epistemology of Communication, Communication Theory and Research Methodology in Communication, acting on the following topics: communication, receipt of the communication, television fiction, communication methodology. Coordinates the CETVN (Centro de Estudos de Telenovela) of USP and the Centro de Estudos do Campo da Comunicação of USP. Creator and coordinator of the international network of research OBITEL (Ibero-American Observatory of Television Fiction) and of OBITEL – Brazil. President of IBERCOM (Associação Ibero-americana de Comunicação) (2012-2015). Director of MATRIZes, Magazine of the Post-Graduation in Communication Sciences at USP. Member of the Coordinating Committee of the Graduate Program in Communication Sciences at the University of São Paulo. It was representative of the Communications area at the CNPq (2004-2007). Member of the INTERCOM’s Board of Trustees, as former president of the organization. Member of editorial board of national and international journals. Guillermo Orozco Gómez National Coordinator
Guillermo Orozco Gomez, Mexico (1951). Bachelor of Communication (1974) ITESO, Guadalajara, master’s degree (1983) and doctorate (1987) in Education from Harvard University. Full-time teacher in CUCSH (Centro Universitario de Ciencias Sociales y Humanidades), University of Guadalajara. National researcher 3, member of the Mexican Academy of Sciences, UNESCO’s Professor of Social Communication at the Javerian University in Bogotá (1996) and Autonomous University of Barcelona (2001). Director of the UNESCO Chair MILID of media and information literacy (from 2014). Coordinator at OBITEL México and co-coordinator of international OBITEL. Founding member of AMIC (Asociación Mexicana de Investigadores de la Comunicación). Practice areas: audience and television reception, educational communication, television fiction analysis. Author / co-author of over 25 books and over 90 articles / chapters. Head of DECS (Department of Estudios de la Comunicación Social) since 2013.
