Catarina Duff Burnay is a Post-Doctorate in Communication Sciences from the School of Communications and Arts of the University of São Paulo (2015) and a Ph.D. in the same area, with the thesis “Açorianidade na Ficção da RTP-Açores (1986-2007)”, from the Faculty of Human Sciences of the Catholic University of Portugal, the institution where she began her academic career in 2002. Invited Assistant Professor at the FCH/UCP since 2011, she is a Secretary Professor at the Faculty and the Coordinator of the Degree in Social and Cultural Communication. A researcher at the Center for Studies in Communication and Culture (CECC) (Media, Technology, Contexts research line), she coordinates the Portuguese team for the Iberoamerican Observatory of Television Fiction (OBITEL). Her main research areas are television studies, television fiction from the perspective of production and reception, production and programming strategies, general public and audiences.

Pedro Lopes graduated History major from the Faculty of Letters of Lisbon. He has a Postgraduate in Communication and Cultural Industries and a Master’s in Communication, Cinema, and Television from the Catholic University of Lisbon. He also has the title of Specialist Professor in Audiovisual and Multimedia awarded by the Polytechnic Institute of Lisbon. He is currently a Professor of Audiovisual Communication in the Master of Audiovisual and Multimedia at the Superior School of Communication in Lisbon and a Professor of Ateliê de Scriptwriting at the Catholic University of Portugal. At the same time, he holds the position of Director of Content for the production company SP Televisão. Author of numerous works of fiction for cinema, television, theater, and children’s literature, he won the Emmy for best international telenovela in 2011 with “Laços de Sangue”.

Marta Neves de Sousa (University of Coimbra) has a degree in Journalism from the Higher School of Social Communication, a postgraduate degree in Television from the Autonomous University of Lisbon, and a Master’s in Communication Sciences with a major in Cinema and Television from the Faculty of Human Sciences of the Catholic University Portuguese. She has already carried out numerous works on television as a reporter and scriptwriter, being a pioneer in the implementation of some entertainment formats in Portuguese generalist channels. She is currently a pivot in the Assembly of the Republic and in Portuguese Public Television, RTP. Simultaneously, she is the author of the blog “The Coolunista”, a columnist for several national publications, and a YouTuber. Associate Researcher of the Portuguese team for the Iberoamerican Television Fiction Observatory (OBITEL) since 2013.
