Gabriela Gómez Rodríguez has PhD in Communication from Concordia University (Canada, 2008) and was certified in Communication Sciences by the Instituto de Estudios Superiores de Occidente (ITESO, 1995). She is a teacher in Social Sciences with a Major in Social Communication (Universidad de Guadalajara, 2002). A Senior Research Professor of the Department of Social Communication Studies, at the University of Guadalajara. Member of the National System of Researchers, level II. She is a member of the Mexican Association of Communication Researchers (AMIC). Since 2009 she is editor of the magazine Comunicación y Sociedad. Areas of specialization: violence and the media, journalism studies, television fiction, science communication.
