Charo Lacalle (Autonomous University of Barcelona) is a professor in the Department of Journalism and Communication Sciences of the Autonomous University of Barcelona. She has a PhD in Communication Sciences and a degree in Information Sciences and Philosophy. She coordinates Masters in Communication and Journalism (UAB) and co-directs the academic magazine Anàlisi. Quaders of Communication and Culture. A specialist in television and internet analysis, she has more than a hundred publications in books, book chapters and articles in specialized magazines, such as El espectador televisivo (Gedisa), El discurso televisivo sobre la inmigración (Omega) and Jovenes y ficción televisiva. (UOC Press). She has taught numerous courses and seminars at Spanish and Latin American universities. She participates in the scientific committee of different communication publications and is an evaluator for Spanish and European university quality agencies.
