Maria Immacolata Vassallo de Lopes National Coordinator
Maria Immacolata Vassallo de Lopes holds a degree in Social Sciences from the University of São Paulo; MA and PhD in Communication Sciences from the University of São Paulo; postdoctoral fellow at the University of Florence, Italy. She is currently a professor at the School of Communications and Arts at USP; has experience in Communications, with emphasis on Epistemology of Communication, Communication and Research Methodology, acting mainly on the following topics: the communication field, reception of communication, television fiction, communication methodology. Coordinates the Center of Telenovela Studies (CETVN) and the Center of Communication Field Studies at USP. Creator and coordinator of the network of international research OBITEL (Ibero-American Observatory of Television Fiction) and network search OBITEL-Brazil. President of IBERCOM – Ibero-American Association of Communication (2012-2015). Director of MATRIZes, Magazine of the Post-Graduation in Communication Sciences at USP. Member of the Coordinating Committee of the Graduate Program in Communication Sciences at the University of São Paulo Program. She was a representative of the Communications area at the CNPq (2004-2007) and Member of the Board of Trustees INTERCOM as former president of the organization. Member of editorial board of national and international journals; published articles and books in the country and abroad in their specialties and is a CNPq 1A Researcher.
